The story of the estate

Since 1925

Founded in 1925 by the Tourtin family, Domaine du Gourget is now run by Mrs. Anne Sansone, who proudly represents the fourth generation.

Located in Rochegude, in the Drôme department (26), Domaine du Gourget enjoys a privileged location, just twenty kilometers northeast of Orange.

Climate

The Mediterranean climate, characterized by hot and dry summers, combined with the mistral wind, shapes the unique character of our wines.

Soils

The 65 hectares of contiguous vineyards are on Pliocene soils, consisting of alluvial deposits with sands, gravel, and clays with excellent drainage.

Grape Varieties

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cinsault for the reds, and Viognier and Roussanne for the whites.

AOP Côtes du Rhône and AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Rochegude available in white, red, and rosé.

Appellation Rochegude Villages for the entire vineyard
Since its origins, the estate has been distinguished by a remarkable consistency in the quality of its productions, leading to the classification of its entire vineyard as Appellation Rochegude Villages in 1966.
1969
Investments in the cellar
The estate took a significant step in its development with the construction of an underground cellar dedicated to aging its wines, equipping itself with a modern bottling unit, integrating an advanced cooling system for the winemaking cellar, and installing air conditioning in the shipping cellar.
1989
Tasting Room
The estate enriches its wine tourism offerings by opening a sales cellar. This welcoming place allows visitors to discover and purchase the estate's wines directly, while enjoying an immersion into the wine world through guided tastings and explanatory tours of the winemaking process.
1998
Sustainable viticulture
Commitment to a sustainable viticulture approach.
2005
Anne's arrival
Anne, the fourth generation of the family, takes over the management of the estate.
2010
Conversion to organic farming
Conversion to organic farming, with the continuous support of an agronomy engineer.
2014
Organic Certification
Obtaining Organic Farming certification, affirming our commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable practices.
2022
No added sulfites
Anne takes her approach further by creating her first cuvée without added sulfites, "Libre comme l'air".
